Meeting the neighbor part 3 (JDGAF Comic #3)

Within 2 weeks, as foretold… (hopefully that will keep happening)

Okay, so before we get into the comic itself, I did warn you last time that things were going to start getting crude. It’s interesting with this that as I am working on the art for one of these comics, I’m already seeing where the story is going to go next. For the most part I’m winging it. Have a few ideas to throw in at some point, but dunno where they’ll end up.

Still, it’s a fun break from other projects.

Once I have some time I’ll be adding more pages under ‘Galleries’ still deciding on a look, but have a lot to link. Once I’ve added a few pages I’ll be sure to include a JDGAF page for easy viewing of the comic as it progresses.

Another JDGAF should be up in less than two weeks. And probably a painting up sometime this week. (or at least a teaser)

New 4 panel comic for your entertainment.
Been having fun with these quite a bit (may be obvious), and intend to try and put out at least one new JDGAD comic every two weeks, if not sooner. Already have dozens of characters filling my sketchbooks that will make this a fairly entertaining and odd comic. Hopefully we’ll see something continuous and fun from it. Also, please take into account that JDGAF is exactly that, it will be odd, deranged, nasty, dirty, rude, crude, and full of ‘tude at times. So be aware, that not all is as nice and cute as it may seem.

Bondage Through Heat (NSFW)

Here’s a piece that I had started some time ago, and then due to other projects and commissions has been sitting untouched. Recently I started working on the piece again, and having just finished it, I’m glad I finally got around to working on it, as I’m quite happy with the outcome. Like much of my personal work there is some not so subtle symbolism intertwined with more subtle ideas. Although I certainly hope that the overall concept is read well enough.

Without further explanation of what the details mean, as it’s really however the viewer determines it that makes the details count or not count, here’s the image.

The One You Feed (Drawing/Painting)

Here’s a small project I did as a mixed personal piece and a likely future piece in a friend’s art show. The piece itself is a 5″ square of cardboard with a sheet of watercolor paper glued over the top of it. Mostly me playing out an idea with blue pencil, then blue micron pens, and finally thin washes of acrylic. Fun way to work, lots of details possible, anyway, here’s the piece how I intend to post it online. Grayscale conversion from the colored piece I worked on.

Some older fans may recognize the story from a piece I did in 2010 as an ink drawing here’s the image. This current variation is closer to what I think will be done as a project this year, but still not quite there. My wolves I think have gotten noticeably better though in the past two years.

For those interested, here is the original drawing which I’m going to play around with digitally once I have some spare time, as I’m not fully satisfied with the painted variation.

Pwnage Paintball logo design (Commission)

Just finished up the design of a new logo for Pwnage Paintball in Long Island City, NY. This is the shaded variation I did, I believe they’ll be having the image converted into vector to clean it up and make it easier to print, but this is the design they’ll be working with. I’m happy with it and know that the owner is. Hopefully we’ll all see some advertising material, stickers and shirts with this design.

Dystopian Burlesque (News)

First post of the new year (WIP)

Hey all, been a little busy so far in 2012.

Did another small mural down in Broad Channel, NY. However, seeing as I’ve been asked to do an extension of it by the business owner (and the pics I got of the finished part was at night and not the best of quality shots), I’ve decided to hold off on posting the images just yet. But should be back there in another week or two.

Have a pretty cool drawing in the works or which I’ll show a little teaser here.

Cybernetic things are always a pleasure to draw

Some of you may recognize this character as the girl in the “TechChristie” sketch I posted in November. Decided to see what I could do with some blue pencil and a nice surface and this is where that started heading. Still a lot of surface to cover, and then I’ve got to decide what I’m doing with the drawing, be it leaving it as is, adding paint, or scanning and coloring digitally. That last one is happening anyway as I’ve been playing with programs a little in my spare time when I do have it. Will see, so be sure to check back for this one.and should have a finished painting or two up by the end of the week.

There are a few other projects that are in the works that I’m really excited about, but wont go into detail on those yet. Just looking forward to seeing how things progress.

Bumps for Hope (Holiday Commission)

Here’s a holiday commission for a non-profit organization’s logo.

The organization is currently seeking funding and support to be officially recognized and the conceptual creator of the project asked me to create an image with the proposed logo (which I also designed). Here however is a painting of a much more detailed variation of the logo, to be used as a possible poster background/flyer for the organization.

The group’s aim is to help support teens and young adults (primarily in the grade school setting) who are dealing with stressful situations. Intended as a collective of information and contacts for support groups, crisis hotlines, youth counseling, etc.

Started by a teenage girl who while dealing with a lot of stress in her own life, would write HOPE on her hand. One day she saw another teenager having a really bad day and gave her a fist bump, the other teen saw the message on the fist and smiled. Hope was shared by a simple gesture of compassion. That is what the base ideal of the group is, and hopefully they’ll get their funding together and make it a recognized face of people to help youths in need.

As an added gift, beyond the logo design, I had this image printed as a laptop skin for the group creator, as a way to show what the future can be for both themselves and for the organization as long as people believe in the idea.

Wish them luck in their pursuit of helping others. Will be checking in on the progress of their goals as well as seeing if I can help out further along the way.

Circus Ticket IOUs (Holiday Commission)

Here’s a holiday commission that was actually a pretty neat concept from the client. Basically, the client’s gf and he are both working a lot lately, and as such have somewhat hectic schedules. (I know the feeling myself) For the holidays he really wanted to take her to the Cirque du Soliel show ‘Dralion’, as they’ve both expressed interest in it. However, since they dont yet know when they’ll be free to go to it, he commissioned me to create an IOU placeholder. Something to represent the show and show the concept of awesome tickets, while also being something that they can hold on to for the future as a memento of sorts. So, after checking out the show, and realizing it is an incredibly colorful element based performance, I played with some rough sketch concepts and wound up creating these for them.

Dralion

The character depicted is Yao of the fire demons, and he’s split along with the show title as a representation that the two ‘admit one’s are meant to go together. Its a cute couple concept gift. Hopefully she appreciates it coming from her boyfriend.
