I’m back! I’ve been a bit busy with work for a while and havent been around. A couple trips to Texas in the past two months (Houston and Austin) for art installations, and a number of commissions back to back.
The commissions I’ll upload as soon as I get the okay from the clients to do so. Also working on new JDGAFs and a comic for an art collection book of stories, as well as some paintings, small and large, and a number of ink drawings. The ink drawings I can share here now, because I feel like you may be going through some art withdrawals by your favorite JG.

So, be sure to scope out these new pieces, and keep an eye out for a week of various intermittent uploads.

Back in March I had made a bunch of small little drawing/paintings for a show, using wood scraps from a studio I work at. Recently re-found a few dozen of the pre-cut panels and decided to start playing with them. Currently have 6 drawn out, 2 of which I finished up the painting work on.

Going to put stands on the back of these so they’ll be ready for display on a shelf or desk. Still need to put a sealant on them, and sign the backs. Then I’ll be selling them through my Etsy store along with many other things I have up there.

The wooden pieces these are on vary a little in size as they came from scraps (recycle and reuse), but are mostly around 4.5″ tall by 2.75″ wide, at about 1/2″ thick wood.

Here is the conclusion of the first feature JDGAF story. We’ve meet a few characters and hopefully had a laugh or two, (I’ll even settle for a smile). Be sure to check back for more JDGAF next week on Tuesday, and then a bonus on Thursday. Hopefully the next little tale will pique your interest and stimulate your eyes.

By now most of you realize that my artwork tends to lean toward the dark, fantastical, surreal, sexy, and graphic. This is because that’s generally how I see things in my head and the visuals I enjoy creating. However, I also have a wide variety of really cute ideas in my head, and every once in a while someone will ask me to create something that fits right along those lines.

This one in particular was a commission by a teenager for one of her friends. She asked for a standard paper size and had a limited budget to work with, but wanted to have a picture of an elephant holding a camera. I told her I could probably do something that would work for her. She kind of squee’d a little when she saw the finished piece and it made me happy. Here’s to hoping you squee as well.

Didn’t get a chance to scan it as I finished it while I was away for holiday vacation with family, so this is a camera shot. But you get the idea. Cute and huggable.

Now, for those of you out there who say you’d like to see more cute stuff from me, commission it and I will create it, deal?
