Create Your World” 2014

Created this piece on Friday for a small local art contest at Williamsburg Artist and Craftsman Supply. The winner gets a nice new easel to take home with them, something I would definitely like to have as my pieces are starting to get bigger and leaning them against things in my house is getting tricky. So, to anyone who’d like to help out in that department, all you have to do is like the image on facebook in the competition page. Link is Here.

Also, if you havent already, would appreciate any and all likes/follows on my FB art page, James Groeling Art

Thanks all. More updates coming soon.

By now most of you realize that my artwork tends to lean toward the dark, fantastical, surreal, sexy, and graphic. This is because that’s generally how I see things in my head and the visuals I enjoy creating. However, I also have a wide variety of really cute ideas in my head, and every once in a while someone will ask me to create something that fits right along those lines.

This one in particular was a commission by a teenager for one of her friends. She asked for a standard paper size and had a limited budget to work with, but wanted to have a picture of an elephant holding a camera. I told her I could probably do something that would work for her. She kind of squee’d a little when she saw the finished piece and it made me happy. Here’s to hoping you squee as well.

Didn’t get a chance to scan it as I finished it while I was away for holiday vacation with family, so this is a camera shot. But you get the idea. Cute and huggable.

Now, for those of you out there who say you’d like to see more cute stuff from me, commission it and I will create it, deal?
