Hi all, between commissions and projects that I can’t share yet, convention travel, and my limited social life, updates haven’t been part of that plan. However, my last convention of the year is in October (New York Comic Con). Shortly after that, I’ll be closing commissions for a while possibly until 2019. The goal with that time off is to update my site by building an actual portfolio page instead of just this blog, and to work on some pieces of my own that have been backburnered for a while.

2 things of note for you, as fans and clients.

1. This will make seeing my work easier (in theory), and you’ll get to see more of it.

And

2. When I reopen commissions for 2019, my rates will be increasing. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a regular client base, many new individuals and companies over the past year. Because of that I’ve had to step my game up. Part of that means my supplies are becoming more costly as I work with higher quality materials in greater volumes.

So, I suggest if you want to get in before that, or simply want to get holiday commissions in before the limit, get in touch soon.

Thanks, and looking forward to sharing what I’ve been working on.

~JG

So, what I can share with you is that I just recently finished working on a small project in cooperation with Marvel Comics, and Upper Deck trading card company. Should be able to share the imagery from that in early 2018.

For now I’m getting back to commissions. I’m almost done with the last of my holiday commissions and getting ready to ship things out. Then, it looks like I have a little time to get back to my own personal art (more JDGAF comic inbound), which is something I’ve been looking forward to for a while. Also looking into spending some time updating JamesGroeling.com to be more of an image share with links to this Blog page. So hoping to make things look much better for 2018. Will see how that works.

Til the next post, will wish all a happy and safe holiday season, and leave you with my lil Goblin tabletopper. This is a coin bank that I picked up, the creature is a Pathfinder Goblin from Paizo. I simply scalped a $2 santa toy to supply the beard, hat, and scarf.

Enjoy.

JG at work.

Working on some new imagery in artist alley at EternalCon this weekend on Long Island. Showing off a variety of prints, stickers and originals including new hand cut Storm stickers that seem to be enjoyed quite a lot

Hand cut Storm stickers will be on Etsy next week.

Adding some new pieces to the Etsy shop later this month, as well as adjusting prices once everything is set up with a new print shop.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone.

JG

My convention scheduling this year has taken me to Chicago, Detroit, NYC (local show), Washington DC, and a few others intermittently.

Next show is EternalCon on Long Island the first weekend of July (you can find me in artist alley) Royal N Games will also be at EternalCon selling copies of Deathbot Derby, so you can pickup a copy and get it signed by both the designer and the artist.

After EternalCon, will be in Boston in August.

Also, for my Twitch stream friends, my PC has been down for a while, hoping to get the issues resolved and be up and running with the stream again in late July. Will keep ou posted. Plus have a bunch of cool projects to share with you.

Much love.

JG

So, first and foremost. This week I’ll be working at New York Comic Con in NYC. I’ll be at the Fanboy Collectibles booth 2937 (and selling some artwork as well.)

Also, I have my first game going through kickstarter right now. Day one and we’re already moving along toward our goal. Deathbot Derby on Kickstarter.

While I could go into all the fine details on the game, and how fun it was to make the artwork for it, you’re better off just clicking the link and checking out the reviews we’ve gotten on it as well as seeing all the ins and outs of the game itself.
It’s a lot of game in a little box, and it’s fun.
If you cant help fund it, please share the link as that gets it seen by more people who may very well be interested in turning their friend’s robots into scrap.

Last but not least, just got my copy of Caustic Comics Insane Tales From The Dead featuring my piece EveVI. There is a lot of cool stuff in this book and the print quality on it is excellent. Proud to be a part of it.

If you want to order your copy, go to www.InsaneTalesFromTheDead.com while supplies last as there are a number of limited edition covers for this book.

That’s all the updates for now. See you at NYCC, and will be working on some more cool projects on twitch after this event is over. www.Twitch.TV/JamesGroelingArt

JG out.

Oops,… well, may as well make the best of it. (Also it appears that I have finally figured out how to schedule updates, there’s so much I can do in advance now. regular JDGAF!)

It’s amazing how alcohol will open people up, lets see how this pans out shall we?

(note: I’m setting this to post at 3pm today, trying to work out these scheduled posts so I can update when I’m traveling for events and comic cons.)
(note 2: I’ll be at Boston comic con this coming weekend, and the following weekend at Mohegan Sun in CT for another comic convention. Stop by the Fanboy Collectibles booth to say hi)

Tiv seems oddly quiet around this beauty,… looks like there’s some history here,… dun dun dun. The plot thickens.
Also, I’ve decided this storyline has a bit more life to it than I had thought originally. More to come soon. (hopefully I can figure out how to properly set up timed posts)

Modern technology and the age of cat narcissism.

(Note: My technological ineptitude struck again, thought I had set a timed post for this one,… not the case. So while this is a week later than intended, you are also getting a second JDGAF post right after this one, so, doubled up.)
